The book my class and i are reading is called "Roll of thunder hear me cry"
This book takes place in mississippi in the time of 1933.In 1930 the main charectors,(cassie,Little-Mann,Stacey,christopher-John,the mother father,and grandmother)biggest money frofet was in the cotton that they grow in their field.When the price dropped the father had to go and work on hte roads to make money.
Even though the children needed money they still had to go to school,(their mother is a teacher who teaches at their school and she is really strickt about a good education.)
Almost every day on their way to school the children get drount in dirty water from the busses(only for the white children)that pass by.Some times they try and avoid the gullies of water because thats where the buss drivers splash them,most of the time there plans dont work and they come home with soggy dirty clothes.
One day the all got so mad they decided to make a way that the buss couldnt get them dirty.That day it was raining and that gave Stacey an idea,his idea involved a whole lunch period.(But Christopher-John didnt like missing lunch)."Y-you mean we aint gonna eat no lunch!","you can miss lunch for 1 day!"

Yes I would do somthing similar to what the kids did but nothing exactly the same.
